I've been working on series of paintings of people on the beach.  Working off of photographs that I have taken over the last several years.  I have lost two cameras in the past six months with the cards in them.  Luckily, I downloaded some into my computer  so I didn't lose all the photos taken since last summer.

"Lil Lulu"

My husband's Sandpiper catboat Lil Lulu floating in Barnegat Bay last summer.  Lil Lulu is the name the original owner gave to her.
Not sure what this summer will bring regarding boating on some parts of the bay.   The bay is going to be dredged for debris.

A great little place on the north end of LBI near the beach where there are no large grocery or big box stores.  The island is dotted with these small summer markets that you can walk or ride your bike to.   I really love that about the island.

The light this time of year is low so the clouds have a beautiful color.  I wanted to paint this plein air but it was too windy out so I painted it from inside the house!  So quiet out this time of year on the bay.  Just starting to see some of the winter residents - brant, mergansers, buffleheads.

Plein air on Barnegat Bay on a Saturday afternoon in August.  I love late summer and early fall when these big puffy cumulus clouds come over the bay as a perfect backdrop to the weekly Saturday regatta.
