"Duckboat Downwind Run"

6"x8" Oil on Canvas Panel
Duckboats and Sneakboxes were vintage wooden boats used
for duck hunting on Barnegat Bay.  This was from a
photo taken during last summer's Duckboat Worlds Regatta.
Thank you Russ Manheimer for letting me use your
photographs as reference for this painting.

I'm planning to do a larger painting for possible submission to
the Tuckerton Seaport Annual Art Show coming up in April..

  1. This is very nice, love the white sails, makes me crave summertime!

  2. You've done a great job capturing the movent here, Lori. Very nice!

  3. I like this one too! Love the way you handled the water and the waves! I too am ready for summer!

  4. Really fun piece Lori, such movement)

  5. Thanks for the welcome Lori, found your blog and love this painting!

  6. Lori, great job on this piece. Love the shading on the sails and you caught the action beautifully. Also, thank you for your sympathy message on my blog. I was so moved by all the messages left when I got home. Now Dad rests with my Mom in Orlando.

  7. I must be having a senior moment, but I can't for the life of me remember who my former neighbor Elizabeth is!! Please help me out here! When/where was she my neighbor? Check out Natalie's new blog:

  8. Must have been an exciting race, the sails are so full of wind, lovely painting, would make a great larger painting too. Can't wait for summer either.
