Plein air at Barnegat Inlet again last Thursday.
Painted this without my glasses on so I could not see
the detail, just trying to capture the light and color of the scene.
Painting without glasses on is a great idea! I am going to have to try it. Sometimes, especially in landscape works, I can get lost in too many extraneous details...your painting looks fabulous!
Without your glasses, hey.....was it fun or nerve-wracking? One sure way to paint impressionistic, I suppose. It came out lovely, Lori.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, It was fun as I had painted it with my glasses on the week before!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting! Painting without glasses, great idea:)
ReplyDelete... very nice these colours
ReplyDeleteCiao Graziano
Hi Lori, Painting without your glasses may be helpful when viewing the subject! (no squinting necessary!) You did a great job!

ReplyDeletethe color harmmony and softness of this are great. Think painting without the glasses works.
ReplyDeleteOk Lori, so now I'm thinking I must take my glasses off to paint plein air! This is great!
ReplyDeleteDidn't I read somewhere that the Impressionist movement started because of the age, and condition, of the eyes of the artists?
ReplyDeletePam, that could very well be. It helps me to see the lights and darks and to simply the scene. I'm pretty blind without my glasses for distance.
